Midnight Mama
Most women, and especially mothers, find they have little time during the day to actually process the amount of decisions they had to make, and weigh their potential impact. If you are like me, midnight seems to be an appropriate time to lay awake and begin the process of analyzing how ONE of the decisions you made today will ultimately derail your entire life, or, someone you are responsible for...If this is you, then meet me at midnight might be the place for you to find some sisterhood, validation, and a whole lot of humor.

Social media has glorified the idea that being a "struggling" mom who doesn't shower, eat, or care for herself is the epitome of motherhood. It has also encouraged us to not show who we TRULY are, and glorify the moms who bounce back and jump right back to work after giving birth without so much of a hiccup. Join me in the conversation about why this is damaging to YOU and other moms, and why being authentic will increase the likelihood that we might get more support and services.

We need to recognize that the symptoms are not always the problem when it comes to our experiences in motherhood. We tend to overcomplicate motherhood and that prevents us from being present in our children's lives. Join me in the discussion about reducing the complications by working on ONE area that will indirectly benefit every other area of your life.

We've all bullshitted ourselves about not having the time or drive to take care of ourselves but will quicky drop everything and do something for our kids or our spouse. I am calling you out on your bullshit here and reminding you that when you take care of yourself and find time for yourself, it allows you to give 100% to everyone else that needs you. You will walk away from this episode with a different mindset and perspective on why pouring into yourself is non-negotiable.

As mothers, one thing we can't seem to get enough of (other than sleep) is a community of helpful and willing moms. I know the struggle I faced when looking outside of my immediate family and support network for those individuals who were walking the same path as me, so I went ahead and created that community. I'm inviting you to join me, wherever you are in your journey as a mother, and help build a strong, safe, solid community of moms who can and will support, value, guide, and uplift one another.

One could assume with the onset of motherhood you would sacrifice some level of privacy. However, getting that privacy back will take far more work than you may have anticipated, or are prepared to do. How are other mothers having this conversation? Are you having it, do you even care anymore, or are you fighting the good fight? I am on the struggle bus currently and looking for some feedback.

After becoming a mother I lost a lot of control over things in my life and was ready for some of them, but not all. The hardest thing for me to come to terms with was the loss of my personal space, and my body belongs to me. From breastfeeding to sex, to kids touching all over me, I feel as though nothing belongs to me. Join me as I share my experience and normalize this for so many others.

We recognize that moms appear to be tired each day regardless of how much rest they get, or how much of their load someone could decrease. I spend time in this episode talking about the power moms possess in their homes and the lives of all of those around them, and how being tasked with providing power to others can significantly impact our mental and emotional well-being.

This episode was heavy on my heart and could be triggering for some individuals. Talk about suicide and homicide relative to the postpartum period for moms in response to the woman in Boston who allegedly strangled her children. The podcast focuses on enhanced services, an angry mother, and our failure to protect one another.
